As a Substation Commissioning Engineer, you are deployed either in the Raleigh test center or at a customer site, depending on the project phase. In the test center, you focus on system integration, PLCbased control functions, and validation of interlocking and control logic prior to shipment. On customer sites, you execute onsite commissioning activities from installation verification through energization and acceptance. In both environments, you work closely with engineering and project teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure systems are commissioned safely, reliably, and in accordance with project and customer requirements.

  • Performing hardware and software testing, including factory and site acceptance tests, to support system integration and commissioning
  • Analyzing and resolving commissioning issues in collaboration with engineering, project teams, and customers
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with established work practices during all commissioning activities

What You Bring

  • Experience commissioning or testing highvoltage substations, HVDC systems, or substation automation systems
  • Strong understanding of substation automation, protection relays, bay control, interlocking logic, and control schemes
  • Experience with PLCbased control functions, including logic validation and interface behavior
  • Structured, independent working style with strong teamwork skills and willingness to travel worldwide

Travel, as needed (~6-9 months in Raleigh, 6-9 months in different location).
