A Snapshot of Your Day
You will design and develop cable routing solutions for wind turbine platforms, ensuring alignment with technical, safety, and quality requirements. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, maintaining design data, and supporting product development through optimized routing concepts. You will contribute to design reviews, adapt solutions based on project needs, and help ensure efficient and reliable system performance while staying aligned with engineering standards and best practices.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsible for designing and developing cable routing solutions for wind turbine systems in line with technical, safety, and quality requirements
- Create and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings using Unigraphics (NX)
- Define optimized cable routing paths, including supports and installation concepts within complex assemblies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as electrical, mechanical, and installation engineering to ensure alignment and integration
- Develop and manage Cable Routing Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Apply best practices in compliance with IEC standards such as IEC 60204, IEC 60034, and IEC 61439
- Ensure proper cable segregation, routing clearances, earthing, shielding, and protection in accordance with applicable standards
- Support design validation, reviews, and release processes within project timelines
- Identify and resolve design challenges to ensure robust and efficient solutions
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline would be preferred; relevant experience in similar roles will be considered
- 7+ years of experience in cable routing design, preferably within wind energy or heavy engineering industries
- Strong hands-on experience with Unigraphics (NX) for 3D routing design
- Solid understanding of cable routing principles, installation practices, and relevant IEC standards (IEC 60204, IEC 60034, IEC 61439)
- Cooperative and target-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities in a global environment
