A Snapshot of Your Day

The Site Operations Manager has the directive and decision-making authority for all operations at the construction location as well as towards all personnel onsite. The Site Manager reports directly to the Lead Site Operations Manager daily and functionally to the Head of SMIL.

You will, in accordance with the contract and EHS / QA systems, be responsible for the planning and execution of work at a specific construction site as directed by the Lead Site Manager. You will ensure that all work is performed in agreement with all SGRE standards and regulations. You will perform continuous evaluation and feedback of the individuals within your teams to ensure capabilities and skills are maintained and where necessary improved to the required standards. Ensures the implementation of continuous improvement and optimizing of processes, workflows and standards to standardize execution and build a safe working environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide visible, strong and active EHS leadership within the project, acting as a champion of Zero Harm. Responsible to ensure the issuance of EHS standards, regulations and procedures to ensure a Zero Harm environment and to perform within your leading function as a role model.
  • Support and contribute to EHS matters in the various planning meetings during the project planning phase and then ensuring the assessment, documentation and certification process are in place during the project execution phase.
  • Responsible for ensuring that activities at site meet company and project targets in regard to safety, schedule, cost and quality. In case of deviations be responsible for developing and implementing countermeasures whilst providing transparency for early warnings for customer concern and reporting.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of change and claim management, as well as cost out measures, ensuring that the quality of work undertaken results in no additional non-standard work, by driving a Zero Defect culture in all areas.
  • Responsible for risk and opportunity management. Ensure the planning and coordination of all site activities and establish and implement a regular reporting regime.
  • Responsible for the site setup planning, mobilization and demobilization of the construction site location and in accordance with requirements the maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery during execution. Responsible for the implementation of 24ONE99 workflows and related construction standards and cost out measures.

What You Bring

  • Preferably, a Bachelor degree in a relevant subject and / or have 3 or more years of professional experience in the Offshore wind industry with 2 or years in a leadership role. A High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Availability to travel for assigned projects up 100% will be required.
  • Experience in leadership roles within large international construction projects. Possessing in-depth technical knowledge of wind turbine products and related logistics. Support technical issues as they arise. Contribute to high-performing teams.
  • You will have an understanding of the work processes at project sites, with broad planning, production, assembly and commissioning know-how as well as in-depth knowledge of business planning and the business process. Having a safety growth mindset including EHS and Quality focus. Mable to identify risks before they happen and have solid understanding of SGRE Sphera, QA and EHS processes.
Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.

Salary Transparency Statement

This role requires extensive travel. Because of this requirement candidates can be based anywhere in the United States including California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington State. Siemens Gamesa offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position is between $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 and the annual incentive target may range between10-15% of base salary. The exact percentage is determined by the internal salary band/grade at time of offer.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
