A Snapshot of Your Day

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will lead the strategic growth of its Navy Defense sector. This role is critical to ensuring technical excellence, customer satisfaction, and successful delivery of high-value defense projects.

The initial assignment involves a significant order valued at $20 million, with a planned start date of October 1, 2025. The program is anticipated to expand to $100 million annually, supporting multiple vessels each year over a projected 10 –20-year period.

The SPM is a proactive leader responsible for the commercial and technical execution of assigned projects. This includes oversight of scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, change control, and resource allocation. The SPM will foster strong client relationships and promote internal team cohesion to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Serve as the primary customer interface, representing EAD USA in all project communications with clients, subcontractors, shipyard and site personnel. Lead the development and execution of integrated project plans, including schedules, results, resource allocation, and billing achievements.
  • Own full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility, managing financial performance through cost control, invoicing, forecasting, and change order oversight.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure schedule alignment, cost efficiency, and technical compliance.
  • Build and lead high-performing, multi-functional project teams (4–8 personnel), being responsible for a portfolio of 2–5 concurrent, Navy-focused projects.
  • Drive proposal and capture efforts by reviewing RFPs, shaping technical execution plans, and coordinating with engineering and operations to develop cost-effective strategies.
  • Use digital project management tools and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles to monitor progress (preferred), track performance metrics, and ensure compliance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related, Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or management field is strongly preferred. Preferred fields include Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering with technical proficiency in Navy systems and SE solutions. Must be a U.S. Navy O5 or higher (Commander or above).
  • Certified Project Manager with PMP or DAWIA Program Management Level III / Advanced Practitioner, or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g., IPMA, PRINCE2).
  • 10+ years of project management experience in Marine/Defense sectors. Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed!
  • Strong financial competence and experience in project cost control and reporting. Proficient in contracting law, including FAR/DFARS, federal contracting principles, organizational change, risk allocation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships, including issue resolution and claims. Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and coordinate across diverse customers, including vendors, Navy program offices, and teams. Proven track record leading Navy acquisition or shipbuilding programs. Skilled in directing engineering teams and aligning program execution with strategic objectives!

This job may be remotely based in California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington State. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position could start between $160-185k and the annual incentive target is 15% of base salary.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
