A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Power Systems Engineer you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing and delivering High Voltage AC (HVAC) grid connection solutions for offshore wind farms. Reporting to the Engineering Manager – AC System Engineering, you will lead the development of engineering work packages that meet both project and business objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform advanced AC system studies including load flow, short circuit, harmonics, voltage fluctuation, insulation coordination, switching transient analysis, and dynamic stability simulations.
  • Engage in technical discussions with client engineering teams to secure approvals and align on system design.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including study reports, specifications, and design basis memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide engineering support during factory acceptance testing (FAT), site commissioning, and post-commissioning troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate protection and control schemes into overall system design.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in HVAC system design, including substation layout, equipment selection, and grid compliance.
  • Proficiency in RMS simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory and EMT simulation tools such as PSCAD.
  • Solid understanding of insulation coordination principles, surge arrester selection, and lightning protection design.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and ENTSO-E grid codes relevant to renewable energy integration.
  • Ability to interpret and apply results from steady-state and transient studies to inform system design decisions.
  • Skilled in using MS Office and engineering tools for data analysis, reporting, and project documentation.
