A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Senior Electrical & Control Systems Engineer, you will maximise your extensive experience in the design, development, and commissioning of industrial automation systems, generator controls, and custom switchgear. Your role will involve leading multidisciplinary teams to provide code-compliant, tailored solutions that meet the intricate needs of our customers. You will be recognized for your technical expertise, technical scope management skills, and commitment to achieving successful customer outcomes.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct thorough reviews of customer specifications, technical drawings, and documentation to ensure compliance with project and code requirements for custom switchgear systems, while also generating detailed submittal packages, including schematics, diagrams, layouts, and automation control network designs for precise project execution.
- Draft customized sequence of operations and control narratives tailored to specific customer and utility demands, ensuring projects meet all required specifications.
- Serve as the principal technical liaison throughout the submittal, revision, and approval processes, effectively driving projects to manufacturing release and managing the delivery of numerous custom switchgear projects with a commitment to the highest standards of quality and punctuality.
- Champion internal training initiatives by developing and facilitating educational sessions aimed at enhancing the engineering team's proficiency in product knowledge, compliance, and application methodologies.
- Mentor and guide new engineering staff through project lifecycles, fostering their development in switchgear and automation applications and client management, ensuring a well-rounded and knowledgeable engineering team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power generating systems and controls theory, complemented by a minor in mathematics, from an accredited institution.
- Possess over 10 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems engineering, and custom switchgear design, with a proven track record of leadership and team mentorship.
- Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard control systems including Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal, Step 7, SPPA-T3000, Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Control Expert, and expertise in PLCs and IO systems across Siemens and Allen Bradley models.
- Highly skilled in CAD software applications such as COMOS, Inter-graph SiGraph, and AutoCAD Electrical, coupled with in-depth knowledge of protective relays, generator systems, instrumentation, protection systems, and alignment to relevant codes & standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, encompassing Excel, Word, Access, Visio, Power Point, and Project, supporting comprehensive project management and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply mathematical concepts and technical expertise to design, develop, and improve power generating systems and control mechanisms.
Preferred Experience:
- Leadership roles in technical environments and global organizations.
- Recognition for outstanding contributions in the field, such as the Siemens Outstanding Employee Contributions Awards.
