A Snapshot of Your Day

The role is being created to internalize agile leadership within the Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) development teams, ensuring business continuity and stabilizing agile practices. The primary objective is to consolidate SAFe development efforts by transitioning from external staff to a permanent, internal position, fostering a more stable and internationally integrated team. To achieve this, the role will concentrate on three core areas: executing and facilitating Agile/SAFe ceremonies, coaching teams to improve agile maturity and performance, and ensuring transparent communication and alignment with all stakeholders. This structure directly supports the transition to a self-sufficient, high-performing agile development organization within the GIS R&D unit. 

Given the focus on SAFe within a technical product development context, the ideal candidate will possess proven experience as a Scrum Master, a strong command of the SAFe framework, and exceptional facilitation skills. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Facilitate all Scrum events including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives for the GIS development teams.
• Organize and lead Program Increment (PI) Planning sessions to define objectives, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks in alignment with SAFe principles.
• Guide the team in managing the product backlog and executing sprints to deliver high-value outcomes as prioritized by the Product Owner.
• Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments that hinder team progress, escalating to the Release Train Engineer (RTE) or management when necessary.
• Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile, Scrum, and SAFe principles and practices to enhance team performance and agile maturity.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned from retrospectives and promoting technical excellence.
• Improve team dynamics by facilitating open communication, resolving conflicts, and motivating the team to achieve its goals.
• Protect the team from external interference and distractions to maintain focus and effectiveness.
• Act as a key liaison between the development team, Product Owners, the Release Train Engineer (RTE), and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Track and report on key agile metrics (e.g., PI progress, team velocity, burn-down charts) to provide visibility into team performance and project status.
• Ensure project goals, scope, and product domain are clearly understood by all members of the Scrum team.

What You Bring

• University degree in a technical or commercial field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a technical product development environment.
• Demonstrated experience applying the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in a multi-team setting.
• Experience in project and process management, including Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices, Agile project management, sprint planning and retrospectives, and the use of tools such as JIRA and Atlassian Confluence to support effective collaboration, continuous improvement, and successful project delivery.
• Leadership and social influence skills, including discussion facilitation, conflict resolution, and influencing abilities to foster collaboration, build consensus, and drive effective stakeholder engagement across diverse teams and environments.
• Technical knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and process improvement practices to support the delivery of efficient, high‑quality solutions and drive continuous improvement across business and technology processes.
