A Snapshot of Your Day

This request is for a replacement SCADA Network Engineer within the Onshore Wind Power Aftermarket team. As a Specialist Professional (P4), this role is vital for the strategic planning and design of network infrastructure to ensure the long-term reliability and performance of SCADA systems for operational wind farms in North America. To meet these objectives, this role focuses on three core areas: advanced network architecture and design specific to SCADA environments, proactive system lifecycle management and optimization, and expert-level technical support and leadership. This structure ensures a comprehensive approach, covering strategic planning, implementation, and the ongoing maintenance required for complex industrial control networks. Given the focus on network integrity and performance, the ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in network architecture, advanced routing protocols like BGP, and both LAN/WAN technologies. A strong background in the engineering design process, coupled with proven analytical and troubleshooting abilities for managing complex technical projects, is essential for success in this senior professional capacity.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • SCADA Network Architecture & Design
  • Design, plan, and implement network upgrades, expansions, and modifications for existing SCADA systems across a portfolio of wind farms.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on network design, providing technical analysis and guidance on hardware (e.g., Cisco, Hirschmann, Palo Alto routers and switches) and transmission systems (fiber, wireless, LTE/5G).
  • System Optimization & Lifecycle Management
  • Manage large-scale network projects, including technology refreshes and security enhancements, from conception to completion with limited oversight.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Technical Leadership
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals and technicians, fostering technical growth and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and design, preferably in an industrial control system (ICS) or SCADA environment.
  • Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert managing large, complex network projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional/Expert (JNCIP/JNCIE)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • Network Engineering & Architecture
  • System Management & Problem Solving, Python (Programming Language)
