A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The Repair Strategic Planner plans, oversees, and coordinates project management activities related to engineering qualifications for the Repair Components business at Winston Technology Center. This role ensures that qualification projects support the facility’s strategic objectives, are executed efficiently, and comply with OEM standards. Success in this position requires a strong technical understanding of gas turbine components, repair methodologies, and regulatory requirements, paired with advanced project management capabilities.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Lead end‑to‑end planning and execution of engineering qualification projects, coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing timelines and resources, and resolving risks or bottlenecks to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Drive strategic planning by aligning qualification projects with long‑term business goals and capacity needs, evaluating market and OEM trends to anticipate future requirements, and developing strategies that enhance repair capabilities while reducing qualification lead times.
  • Act as the primary accountability point for strategy alignment of the Repair Component business, communicating program status and priorities to internal and external stakeholders, facilitating crossfunctional issue resolution, and presenting status, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure documentation and records for all qualification activities, including test results, certifications, and approvals are maintained. Support audits and customer reviews related to qualification programs.


What You Bring (requirements)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience
  • Experience: 5+ years in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Experience with gas turbine components and repair processes strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: PMP or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering qualification standards and OEM requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
