A Snapshot of Your Day

The quality engineer coordinates the implementation of quality control processes to ensure that products meet the required standards. Revises and maintains standard operating procedures, coordinates the finding root causes of quality issues, and drives corrective actions. The quality engineer also performs audits and leads the qualification of new parts and processes.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Composes, updates, and controls Standard Operation Procedures and Quality Instructions formats. Revises line ups of new parts and approves them for production once the accurate instructions and quality records are in place.
  • Participates and takes initiative in implementing preventive and corrective actions, performing root cause analysis, and applying problem solving methods. Ensures effective collaboration with collaborators; clarifies issue. This position involves delivering and putting into action solutions independently and in a way that achieves outcomes.
  • Leads internal process and product qualifications efforts. Coordinates a team that analyzes, tests, or implements processes. Works closely with the area’s Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Performs process audits, report findings and do accurate follow up to generated action items.
  • Ensures and Implements quality related standards, guidelines and programs in a specific area assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. Or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment across all disciplines within the organization including operations, maintenance, order planning, EHS, as well as contracted services.
  • Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to analyze data using Excel, Minitab, Tableau, or other software is required.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, tapes, snap gauges, etc. Familiar with the metric system for measurement.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in manufacturing operations that produce parts with complex engineering specifications, knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and familiarity with key quality tools. Experience with SAP is also preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
