A Snapshot of Your Day
The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for managing production shifts and directly overseeing the factory floor workers during various stages of the power transformer repair and retrofit process. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, the Production Team Leader will ensure that production operations are carried out efficiently and effectively while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
This role will be based at our new factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, and will initially coincide with the factory’s construction. During this phase, we will focus on developing our processes, refining our offerings, and collaborating closely with a high-performance team. This will involve all aspects of the commercial setup to ensure we are well-prepared to meet the needs of our customers effectively when factory operations start.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Coordinating with the Manufacturing Manager and other department leaders to implement production plans and strategies, enhance efficiency, and minimize downtime.
- Directly supervising factory workers, managing and delegation the day-to-day activities of the team and ensuring adherence to guidelines and procedures.
- Train and develop team members, promoting continuous learning environment.
- Supporting in developing and maintaining the documentation of technical instructions for the drying and treating processes.
- Lead by example and ensure all health and safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safe and respectful working environment.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent. A technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field would be advantageous.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in transformer or heavy industrial manufacturing, including operation of vapor phase ovens, vacuum pumps, and oil processors.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, people management experience would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment, OSHA experience is a plus.
- Willingness to work in shifts and flexibility to adapt to changing production needs.
Other Key Requirements:
- Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
- Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
- If not local the candidate must be willing to relocate to Charlotte-NC area.
- Must be willing to travel to Mexico, Brazil, China or Germany for on-the-job training for a period of 2-3 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
