A Snapshot of Your Day

The Siemens manufacturing facility in Fort Payne, AL is seeking an individual that will lead and direct hourly workforce with responsibility for safety, quality, on time delivery and cost targets. Primary responsibilities include driving a safety and quality culture, commensurate with the mission and vision of the plant. This is a high visibility role with demanding targets. You will energize the team with daily toolbox meetings, emphasizing Safety, Quality, and shift assignments. Your hands-on approach will ensure that you are visible on the floor, assisting your team as needed and performing safety observations. Empower your operators to uphold safe working practices while fostering a culture of positive coaching and collaboration.

This role is based in our Fort Payne, Alabama, USA factory, with a weekday shift schedule.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive safety culture by actively engaging with the shop floor operations and ensure quality throughout the process on a consistent basis.
  • Be a champion of change.
  • You will promote and actively participate in continuous improvement and lean activities that drive operational excellence.
  • Mentor and drive accountability of direct reports.
  • Maintain a culture of respect within the group.
  • Collaborate with peers to achieve overall plant targets.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Lead with production management skills, effectively guiding a diverse team towards achieving business priorities.
  • Make quick, informed decisions to allocate production resources, directly impacting customer delivery.

What You Bring

  • Ability to use excellent verbal and written English skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Engage with multi-functional teams in an operations and engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite is helpful.
  • Prior experience of leading skilled hourly work force. Ability to work and lead in a diverse environment is desired.
  • Proven project management skills, manage floor resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Your background includes Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or 5S methodologies.
  • Critical skills related to conflict resolution. 
  • Accumulated 2-5+ years of proven experience.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines, and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
