A Snapshot of Your Day

We are seeking a Product Engineer to design high voltage circuit breakers in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications. This position requires the ability to work well with customers and colleagues in Drafting, and also the ability to appraise quality, adequacy, economy, and practicality of engineering design and drafting work.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Directing design activities through daily collaboration with R&D and drafting teams to ensure alignment with industry standards and customer specifications
  • Translating customer specification requirements into accurate and production-ready Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensuring design execution meets applicable IEEE, IEC, and ANSI standards as well as internal quality requirements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate design intent and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Resolving design-related issues arising during manufacturing or post-delivery by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Supporting continuous improvement by refining design processes and incorporating feedback from production and field performance


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • Previous experience with control circuits and/or circuit breaker design preferred (internship or co-op experience considered for recent graduates).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product testing, and/or substation design is a plus.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAP, and/or electrical programming software preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in team and independent environments.
  • Familiarity with relevant IEEE, IEC, and ANSI standards is a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel, as needed (Less than 15%)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
