As a Senior Solution Engineer for AUX Power, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of innovative solutions within the National Grid. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to support exciting projects, ensuring that your contributions help make a sustainable future a reality. Imagine leading the design and engineering of auxiliary power systems while engaging with various disciplines to deliver impactful results.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design and engineer auxiliary power systems for medium and low voltage levels in AIS/GIS High Voltage Substations, Synchronous Condenser Plants, and HVDC Converter Stations.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage the budget for AUX power engineering and identify potential savings.
  • Coordinate the AUX power package, ensuring seamless interfaces with civil, mechanical, and other disciplines.
  • Consolidate the drawing list and manage submission dates for the AUX power package to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct technical, cost-saving, and constructability reviews of AUX Power design packages from internal engineering and subcontractors.
  • Generate equipment/system specifications, monitor vendor compliance, and witness factory acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with the PM and Procurement departments to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare technical specifications and engage internal and external resources to meet technical objectives.
  • Attend site visits to assist in the commissioning of the AUX power system.

What You Bring

  • A degree in electrical engineering or an electrotechnical high school diploma.
  • Professional experience in MV/LV power systems.
  • Strong teamwork, coordination, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in software for load flow, short circuit analysis, and MV/LV power system selectivity, such as ETAP, Sienergy Integra, or Digsilent.
  • Knowledge of MV/LV cable sizing according to IEC standards.
  • A strong focus on achieving goals and customer satisfaction, with initiative and a collaborative spirit.
  • Proficiency in English and Italian, with availability for national and international business trips (2-3 weeks for short trips, 1-2 months for medium-term assignments).

Rewards/Benefits

The total compensation package for this position, including both fixed and variable components, ranges between € 47.000 – € 53.000 gross per year.
Salary ranges for this role are provided in accordance with applicable local legislation. The stated range is based on the Italian labour market.
Where a role may be performed in multiple locations in Italy or abroad, compensation will vary depending on factors such as market conditions, including the local cost of living, as well as experience and qualifications. In such cases, the specific salary range for the location of interest will be communicated in the early stages of the recruitment process and, in any case, before any potential offer of employment is made.
