A Snapshot of Your Day

We’re hiring a Mid-Level Control and Protection Engineer to join our Remote Operations Center. This role focuses on 24/7 SCADA monitoring for utility clients, ensuring grid reliability through real-time system oversight, alarm response, and coordination with field teams!

You’ll work with digital platforms and tools like Slack to assess conditions, triage alarms, and escalate critical events. Success in this role requires technical skill, situational awareness, and clear communication.

As part of a rotating shift team, you’ll support continuous coverage, shape operational protocols, and help improve system performance. Ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to a resilient energy future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform real-time monitoring of SCADA systems across diverse utilities and renewable energy portfolio.
  • Acknowledge, document, and respond to system alarms as they occur.
  • Apply collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack) for presenting live events, issues, or customer concerns with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and increase high-level or critical alarms to local site personnel per established protocols.
  • Conduct initial remote diagnostics and provide technical context to field engineers or technicians.
  • Ensure all incidents are logged and tracked accurately within internal systems.
  • Support the engineering team by flagging recurring issues or system performance concerns for review.
  • Assist in developing and refining alarm management and escalation procedures.
  • Participate in shift rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years proven ability in SCADA monitoring, control/protection systems, or utility operations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, Control Systems, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven understanding of Grid operations, energy storage systems (BESS), and substation controls
  • preferred.
  • Familiarity with real-time monitoring software and remote diagnostics tools.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 control center or operational environment is a strong plus.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure while managing simultaneous alerts and requests.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
