A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic team as you dive into the world of Gas Turbine engineering! You will carry out both static and transient mechanical analyses, utilising advanced FEA techniques on critical components such as rotors, blades, and casings. Imagine leveraging your expertise with commercial software like ANSYS and NX-Simcenter to optimise designs and enhance performance. You will also play a key role in predicting component lives and conducting high-cycle fatigue assessments, ensuring the structural integrity of our gas turbines. Your contributions will not only support innovative projects but also drive the future of energy technology.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will perform linear and non-linear mechanical and thermo-mechanical FEA using ANSYS, NX-Simcenter, and Abaqus.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and enhance mechanical optimization tools, including HEEDS.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of component lives, including Campbell diagrams and high cycle fatigue evaluations.
  • Prepare comprehensive structural integrity design reports documenting your FE calculations.
  • Engage in structural integrity design reviews and facilitate seamless communication between design teams and project leads.

What You Bring

  • You hold a Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized institution, with a postgraduate qualification being a plus.
  • You have over 3 years of experience in CAE/FEA, specializing in static, transient, thermal, and structural calculations.
  • Proficiency in NX-Simcenter and Abaqus, with experience in ANSYS being advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HEEDS optimization tools and Python scripting for automation and post-processing.
  • A background in turbomachinery, particularly gas or steam turbines, is preferred.
