As a member of the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Field Service Team, you will embark on an exhilarating opportunity, traveling extensively across the United States and the broader North American region, with the chance for occasional international adventures as well. 

Serving as the lead Mechanical Field Service Representative (FSR) on-site, you will become the vital, hands-on link between Siemens Energy and our esteemed clients. The work is endlessly engaging, offering a rich tapestry of responsibilities that range from managing standard service outages to overseeing new unit installations and commissioning, implementing site modifications and upgrades, addressing breakdowns, and tackling distinctive challenges. How You Will Make an Impact

The AGT Mechanical Field Service Representative is a fully REMOTE position that works with the Gas Turbine Field Service Operations based in Deer Park, Texas. The selected candidate will provide service and technical support for the AGT A05, A35 (RB211) and A65 (Trent) product lines. Services include mechanical disassembly, inspection reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades! Other tasks include:

  • Maintain the highest level of a zero-harm culture in part by following and carrying out all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
  • Responsible for all facets of the company’s scope of work during equipment installation and/or subsequent service inspections/outages on AGT units, but ability to cross train and be applied in related product families is expected.
  • Plan / perform and coordinate onsite service and maintenance activities while coordinating with project and engineering teams to ensure customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Able to carry out and supervise mechanical aspects of Gas Turbine Inspection procedures such as visual inspection, borescope Inspection, filter changes, valve servicing including return to service following accurate standards and procedures. Maintain an accurate record of activity carried out on site - Produce written reports.
  • Travel for extended periods of time, both domestic and international as assigned. Must carry valid passport, be able to pass both required background checks and required drug and alcohol testing. International assignments are likely to include travel to developing countries.
  • Able to perform duties on day or night shift under difficult conditions, heat, cold, noise, etc.
  • Able to travel on short notice, work weekends and holidays.

What You Bring

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED that can be verified.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas or power generation field.
  • 5+ years of experience with Mechanical, Industrial or Aeroderivative Gas Turbines is preferred
  • Candidates with greater experience may be considered for a higher-level position.
  • Familiar with strip/rebuild of rotating mechanical equipment, function of associated equipment and auxiliary air, fuel and oil systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with borescope inspections and techniques and laser alignment is a plus.
  • Must have strong time management, leadership and organizational skills to work with a crew of mechanics.
  • Must have good verbal skills with the ability to fluently speak, write, and read in English. Ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering review and analysis.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, Experience

  • Previous Aeroderivative gas turbine outage experience in the Power Generation or Oil and Gas Industries
  • Client facing negotiating skills are a valuable plus
  • Previous experience with Allen Bradley software a plus
