How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Materials Intern at Siemens Energy Lincoln, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, alongside our expert team. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Performing tests on materials to determine their properties. Preparing samples for testing by cutting, shaping, or conditioning them according to specific standards.
  • Analysing test results using specialized software and interpreting the data to provide insights into material performance.
  • Ensuring that materials meet industry standards and specifications by conducting thorough quality control tests.
  • Document and report findings in detailed technical reports, including graphs, charts, and summaries.
  • Maintenance and calibration testing of equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Working closely with engineers, scientists, and other specialists to develop new materials and improve existing ones.


What You Bring

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Be studying toward, or have graduated with, a Materials Engineering or Metallurgy degree at 2:2 or above.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Have a passion for innovation and a keen interest in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Have a strong commitment to personal and professional growth.
