A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be a driving force in developing and providing innovative and efficient methods to refurbish Siemens’ fleet of brushless exciters as well as providing new equipment for the emerging needs within North America. Working closely with the shop floor team ensuring they have all the vital tools and equipment to perform their duties as needed, take a hands-on approach to meet production demands. This position will cover our weekend shift – Fri – Sun, 5:30am – 6pm.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensure manufacturing processes are clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to the shop floor via technical instructions, GMSs, etc.
  • Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing processes utilizing sound engineering judgment and methodologies
  • Provide technical guidance and training to new and experienced engineers, operators, and technicians.
  • Communicate with order engineering to understand requirements, optimize product design for manufacture, and communicate process deviations (non-conformances)
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and meet Siemens Energy expectations.
  • Promote and participate in continuous improvement/lean activities that meet operational excellence expectations.
  • Understand how to extract information contained in SAP (Quality notifications, drawing retrieval, line-up printing, material status, etc.)

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Engineering subject area or higher
  • 3 or more years of experience in providing technical oversight in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting the power generation industry. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level
  • 2D – 3D drafting, print BOMs (bill of materials)
  • Prior exposure to brushless excitation manufacturing and nomenclature is a plus
  • Skilled in interpretation of product and manufacturing drawings
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Working experience with computers – including SAP and Microsoft Office software
  • Lifting 15 pounds and standing for extended hours
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
