As a Lead Project Manager you will be required to lead a portfolio of turnkey HV substation projects within an overall framework for one of our key customers. You will work as part of the Systems delivery team leading a portfolio of projects while working alongside the Technical, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning leads on all aspects of project delivery.

Based out of our Newcastle office this exceptionally varied position will enable you to work on a plethora of projects across the UK.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has Project Management/Contract Management experience gained within the Transmission & Distribution Industry as well as leading multiple Project Management teams. You will have a strong understanding of Transmission & Distribution standards & technologies together with knowledge of Substation Primary & Secondary Systems. An excellent knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations as well as Risk Management processes.

Contractual management knowledge and experience, especially NEC, is crucial in the execution of this role.

Of course, fantastic communication & interpersonal skills are required along with a strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive, lead and make decisions.

Your responsibilities

As a Lead Project Manager you will be required to lead a portfolio of turnkey HV substation projects within an overall framework for one of our key customers. You will work as part of the Systems delivery team leading a portfolio of projects while working alongside the Technical, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning leads on all aspects of project delivery.

You will be the first point of escalation for the delivery teams within your portfolio and the customer working closely with their Lead Project Managers to enable efficient project delivery whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, Health & Safety and enhancing the reputation of Siemens Energy.

You will be required to ensure delivery on all technical, procurement and quality information while maintaining exceptional Health and Safety Standards throughout the delivery of projects in your portfolio, including adherence to PM standards and Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g. Tax regulations, Export Control, EHS).

Commercially and technically, you are required to support the project teams in the resolutions of any issues raised, internally or externally, and raise all potential risks, variations and opportunities within the business as vital.

You will be responsible for attending Monthly Progress meetings for internal and external reporting, along with supporting the project teams being customer facing on discussions, technical queries, issues, design risk management and project reporting.

You may also be required to support the tendering department on future project opportunities with the “Capture Team” approach.
