A Snapshot of Your Day 

Your work has a strong focus on measuring with special instrumentation on turbo machinery mainly in an R&D environment. 

As a Junior Software Engineer (f/m/d) you will be responsible for programming, designing, developing, and maintaining software that helps on daily work and aligns with the strategic goals and long-term vision of the organization.

You will be in charge for enabling technically translated business requirements into software tools, helping to deliver high quality measurements.  You will take the lead for shaping our software & data utilization, determine requirements and develop specifications & roadmaps that suit the long-term vision of the department. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timely completion of software development and building in-house competence for the maintenance and further development of the software. You will collaborate with other departments to ensure that the software integrates seamlessly with other systems and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development. 

Your main interfaces are testing engineers in our global hubs in Berlin, Mülheim and Casselberry offices. 


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Develop specifications and requirements for software development
  • Determine the scope of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for upcoming initiatives and outline the future roadmap for enhancements and potential improvements
  • Implement software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps  
  • Writing secure and clean high-quality code
  • Debug issues within actual software code of Python, Matlab an VBA projects 
  • Developing new code for Python, Matlab an VBA projects
  • Working with meta and testing data 
  • Conduct complex data analysis and prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
  • Build in-house competence for the maintenance and further development of software
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members  
  • Document and present methods, procedures, and project deliverables to senior collaborators in various function

What You Bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of software development standard methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps 
  • Strong background as a Visual Basic Developer
  • Good background as a Python Developer, Matlab
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Apps
  • Knowledge in Excel and MS Office products
  • Ability to understand existing code
  • Data science and software engineering experience
  • Experience in developing and maintaining databases as well as in conducting software testing and quality assurance 
  • Excellent communication and good English language skills
