A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to service central inverter fleet in North America. In this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site service, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery. Your main objective will be to ensure our customers' equipment operates efficiently and effectively, enhancing uptime and improving performance. Remote work location with frequent onsite travel required.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of Communication Networks, Cooling Systems, Power Electronics, MV Equipment, and Electrical Switchgear.
Work location flexible and candidates need to be located with 30 miles from a major airport as this role involves flexible travel schedule up to 75% travel throughout the United States and Internationally. While candidates can be located anywhere, these are preferred: Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Las Vegas
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Travel onsite to resolve technical issues and provide remote technical assistance to resolve incidents on Photovoltaic (PV) central Inverters, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Power Conversions Systems (PCS) Equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Troubleshoot errors on PV Inverters, BESS and PCS Equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Provide detailed daily reports on work performed during the day
- Remote follow-up of the general operation of teams with the ability to prevent future errors
What You Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining PV Inverters, BESS, PCS, or similar equipment with utility scale solar inverter or wind convertor experience is required.
- Attention to safety support zero harm culture and ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary.
- NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 certified and ability to operate forklift and replace inverter components in the field
- Ability to read and understand Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic Schematic Diagrams and experience using Microsoft 365 Office Package, Jira, and VPNs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Preference given to candidates fluent in English and Spanish
- Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time while on solar farm sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment. Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and to occasionally lift items weighing between 60 and 100 pounds.

This role may be based in various locations across the United States. Siemens Gamesa offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 annually with overtime eligibility.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
