A Snapshot of Your Day

The Technical Proposal Specialist is a dynamic and multifaceted role supporting the sales and service teams by providing technical expertise, preparing detailed proposals, and ensuring exceptional customer engagement. This role involves working across departments to deliver tailored solutions in the energy sector, particularly focused on power transformers and related services.

 


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop comprehensive, competitive proposals for power transformer service projects, including installation, maintenance, repair, and testing activities.
  • Assess project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure cost‑efficient and customer‑focused solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—engineering, project management, logistics, and field service—to gather technical data and validate project scope and feasibility.
  • Provide technical guidance and subject‑matter expertise to both internal sales teams and customers, addressing inquiries and tailoring service solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand technical and operational needs, deliver informed recommendations, and conduct site visits as required.
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, service quality, and overall project execution.


    What You Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience will be considered. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years in a technical sales, estimating, or engineering role within the power or electrical industry.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
      • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
      • Experience using tools such as Salesforce
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Detail‑oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn; collaborative team player with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
    • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Current Siemens Energy employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer consideration.
