A Snapshot of Your Day

In this exciting and challenging role, you will lead a global team of approximately 15 engineers across multiple locations in the Germany and US. You will be responsible for the system design team within the large gas turbine engineering module. This includes mechanical design for casing and rotor components, as well as product configuration tasks. A key aspect of your role will be ensuring people’s development, quality, on-time delivery, product costs, and digital integration are achieved and enhanced at a system level.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and partners in engineering, manufacturing, service, procurement, and program management to ensure timely delivery of components. Your work will significantly contribute to fostering a system-thinking mindset in turbine engineering, allowing you to make a meaningful impact every day.

  • Provide leadership and professional guidance to a team of engineers and technical experts, fostering an environment of innovation and high performance.
  • Create an inclusive and collaborative culture that enables all team members to reach their full potential.
  • Facilitate organizational growth and individual development through training, task assignments, and proactive development opportunities.
  • Oversee the design and mechanical engineering of rotor and casing components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Drive the development of product configurations and designs to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design solutions into overall turbine systems.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent with 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Management experience in complex engineering, product development, or R&D environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead a global team within an international matrix organization.
  • Strategic thinking and a comprehensive understanding of business, with a focus on team performance and excellence.
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills, exceptional communication abilities, and experience managing complex projects.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with fluency in English (spoken and written); proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
