A Snapshot of Your Day

As Head of New Component Operations, you will lead the overall direction of our manufacturing organization at the Winston Technology Center. Your role will focus on the production of new components for large generators, directly supporting the operational goals of Siemens Energy’s Gas Services division.

To meet these objectives, the role focuses on three core areas: strategic and operational leadership, production and resource management, and a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This approach ensures the department not only meets its production targets but also aligns with long‑term strategic goals while operating with maximum efficiency and safety.

In this role, you will apply extensive experience in production management, drive process improvements, and provide leadership across multiple teams. A strong technical background in manufacturing, combined with senior‑level leadership capabilities, is essential to successfully lead operational and strategic priorities for the organization.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and execute the short‑ to mid‑term functional strategy for the New Components department, aligning with overall business objectives, and influence and communicate effectively with executive leadership regarding departmental strategy, performance, and resource needs.
  • Direct and monitor all production activities for new components, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and cost standards while meeting customer demand.
  • Manage departmental budget, labor and capital resource allocation, and operational planning to achieve financial and performance targets.
  • Plan and prioritize production schedules in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Sales, supported by effective material requirements planning and inventory management to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of production line maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a department comprising multiple teams led by managers and team leaders, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Champion and drive the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen to optimize processes.
  • Ensure all manufacturing operations comply with company and industry standards for Quality Control, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Environment, Health, and Safety.
  • Lead investigations into complex production problems using root cause analysis and maintain and analyze production data and records to monitor performance, report on key metrics, and ensure regulatory compliance.

What You Bring
