Snapshot of Your Day:

We are looking for a Head of Procurement – Switchgears Americas & Supply Chain Manager in Richland, MS to lead all areas of Supply Chain Management (procurement, materials management, supplier development) for Switchgears Americas Cluster (SGA) cluster.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Define and implement strategies to deliver business objectives in the areas of procurement.
  • Drive materials savings thru vendor negotiations and alternate sourcing strategies.
  • Define commodity strategy for cluster by bundling commodities.
  • Procurement of material as per customer delivery /manufacturing plan for DT Circuit breakers, CPV & live tank breakers considering supplier lead time for standard material.
  • Enhance supplier capacity in line with cluster growth (E.g. Jupiter) or delivery constraint.
  • Provide support in defining global strategies for various commodities and participate in overseas negotiations.
  • Drive localization/regionalization to get price advantages.
  • Define alternate source development action to minimize business risk.
  • Handle escalation management for material availability.
  • Minimize inventory investments without causing inventory stockouts.
  • Develop alternate vendors/source to minimize the purchasing related risks considering geopolitical situations.
  • Work with engineering team to support engineering design change savings.
  • Manage transactional purchasing function and staff to drive efficiencies.
  • Work with quality organization to hold supply base responsible for non-conforming materials.
  • Work with supply base to reduce lead times and logistic costs.
  • Prepare adhoc reporting for both US and German headquarters.
  • Act as change agent in procurement.
  • Lead overall productivity program (material).
  • Work with cross functional teams to deliver superior business results.
  • Build, train and motivate teams for SGA cluster.
  • 30% domestic/international travel required.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: high voltage products;
  • SF6 leak proof casting development;
  • High voltage products/component development from 72.5 kV - up to 550 kV product;
  • Knowledge of high voltage product sub-assemblies & assembly line design and implementation;
  • Strategic and operational procurement;
  • Operational management & business excellence skills;
  • Productivity program management;
  • Commodity knowledge required for products like Insulating parts, current transformers, composites insulator;
  • Quality management; and
  • Vendor development meeting/exceeding IEEE standards.
  • 30% domestic and international travel required.
