Title: Gas Turbine Mechanical Design/Draughting

Location: Lincoln UK, office biased hybrid model

Education: Qualified to BTEC National level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical engineering subject, alternatively equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience: We invite interest from those with minimum 4 years experience in 3D CAD and draughting, preferably but not limited to rotating machinery, complemented by an understanding of manufacturing techniques.

A Snapshot of your day

We are looking for a skilled CAD designer/draughtsperson to join our Gas Turbine Engineering function in Lincoln, UK. Siemens Energy operates a “Better Together” hybrid working model of typically 3 days in-person attendance per week to ensure effective collaboration with colleagues whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Working alongside senior staff to deliver product definitions and solutions to technical challenges which will involve some basic design input and knowledge of Design for Cost and Design for Manufacture techniques.
  • Modelling and draughting of Gas Turbine components and assemblies which meet overall product requirements,
  • Producing supporting documentation e.g. FMEA, BOM and product change records.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable work experience gained as a CAD designer with knowledge of machinery design and manufacture processes.
  • Familiar with the requirements of BS8888.
  • Able to interpret technical specifications for standard/catalogue parts.
  • Can perform basic calculations e.g. expansion/clearance/clash, limits and fits, tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience of concurrent working with component and process suppliers/manufacturers would be advantageous.
  • Current ability in complex 3D CAD modelling and assembly is expected, ideally using NX, producing assemblies in accordance with CAD structure rules.
  • Recent experience working in a Teamcentre/PLM environment would be beneficial.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential in our multidisciplined and multicultural team.
