A Snapshot of Your Day

You are part of the SIEAERO Operations Team Being responsible for our daily data acquisition operations execution, your day is centered around organizing, technically planning and executing our data acquisition missions. This entails technically and logistically planning the missions, via accompanying (remotely or at site) the mission execution itself, to governing the post-mission equipment and data handover with our technicians. You are feeding back to our product development and process improvement groups what works well, what needs to improve and any ideas you have, that can help us getting better each day.

Work with an exciting group of personnel within SIEAERO HQ in Europe and the AM OPS Hub to help North America make the transition to digital services in transmission and distribution lines. You will be a component of the long-term service solution to a Greener North America. Working with ultimate technology in smarter and digitalized service for powerline inspections. You will achieve long term success in providing the North American market generational support on the investments made today for our Services provided tomorrow.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Plan and conduct inspection flights using multi-sensor systems on helicopters and drones in collaboration with aviation partners.
  • Support end-to-end data handling from field acquisition to readiness for AI-based analytics processing.
  • Coordinate mission planning and execution to ensure seamless collaboration and high-quality service delivery.
  • Train and qualify sensor system operators, and lead test flight campaigns in alignment with product development.
  • Execute missions as a Sensor Operator and provide technical support during flight operations.
  • Maintain operability of vehicles, equipment, and sensors while upholding Siemens Energy’s Zero Harm standards.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, IT, Aviation, or a related technical field.
  • 3 or more years of experience in mission planning and execution within industrial field service, military, or similar environments. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Familiarity with GIS-based flight planning software such as QGIS; programming and debugging skills are considered a strong asset.
  • Willingness to participate in utility patrol helicopter flights and operate in dynamic, high-pressure settings.
  • Fluent English for international collaboration
  • Certifications in aerial thermography, EASA CPL(H), or experience in powerline patrol and helicopter operations are highly valued.

Ability to travel as business requires. Short-term travel availability to North America preferred.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
