A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

We are seeking a highly motivated and digitally fluent Financial Analyst to support the GS NA Open Market business! This role is responsible for delivering accurate and insightful financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, while driving transparency through the use of digital tools and automation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive business partner who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about transforming financial processes through technology!

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Lead monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles, including variance analysis, scenario modeling, and support for the annual budget process by aligning financial plans with strategic business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to translate operational drivers into financial outcomes and provide insights to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial reports (actuals, critical metrics, dashboards), while ensuring compliance with internal reporting standards and external audit requirements.
  • Analyze revenue, cost, and profitability trends to support decision-making and critical initiatives.
  • Build and maintain digital dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud), automate recurring reporting, and champion data integrity and transparency.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to the GS NA Open Market leadership team, supporting ad hoc analysis, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Business Administration/ Accounting related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning, reporting or business analysis
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, SAP, and digital reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau), with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, GS NA reporting structures, and critical metrics. Passionate about data visualization and storytelling through analytics.
  • Proven ability to drive operational improvements and digital transformation, using strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and effective stakeholder management in team-oriented environments.
  • Skilled at multitasking and working under pressure to meet deadlines; flexible to travel (~5%) as required.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
