A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Gas & Power Large Generator Manufacturing Business Unit is seeking a Factory Controller to be an integral member of this highly visible, dynamic, and hard-working team! You will have the primary responsibility to provide clear and all-encompassing factory controlling for the Charlotte Steam Turbine factory, ensuring all processes including Forecast, Budgeting, Month End Closing, and Performance Reviews are handled neatly and accurately, critical metrics are controlled in large detail, and processes are optimized to suit the business needs!

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Finance partner for the factory Operations teams.
  • Monthly Closing Activities including accruals, journal entries, forecasting, and actuals reporting for all SU departments’ cost centers
  • Ensure accurate allocation and reporting of scrap and rework non-conformance costs
  • Annual budget development and utilization and absorption analysis.
  • Detailed analysis of data and variance explanations
  • Business case evaluations for Capital Expenditures and hourly rate cost analyses.
  • Critical metrics development and reporting

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area.
  • 3+ years experience in operational controlling and cost accounting.
  • Deep understanding of cost center structures, rates, allocations, and burdens
  • Ability to understand basic technical processes.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change and improve processes.
  • Team collaboration and excellent concise and comprehensive communication skills.
  • Ability to consolidate sophisticated financial topics into management presentations.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines, and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
