A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Engineering Technical Lead, your day is focused on helping engineering teams solve challenging technical problems and deliver successful outcomes across a wide range of gas turbine initiatives.  You will work closely with engineers from multiple disciplines, providing technical guidance, coordinating activities, and helping teams navigate complex decisions involving performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.

A typical day may include reviewing engineering analyses and design proposals, participating in technical reviews, supporting development and validation activities, and collaborating with manufacturing, quality, service, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.  You will be expected to identify risks, facilitate trade studies, and help align stakeholders on the best path forward.

You will serve as a key technical resource within the organization, bringing together expertise from across engineering disciplines to support product development, fleet improvement efforts, technology maturation activities, and strategic business objectives.  Initial efforts will be focused on supporting a new engine development program.

Success in this role requires strong technical fundamentals, effective communication skills, and the ability to influence teams through collaboration and expertise.  You will have opportunities to mentor other engineers, contribute to the development of engineering best practices, and play an important role in advancing Siemens Energy's gas turbine products and technologies.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide technical leadership across gas turbine engineering programs, product development efforts, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions that improve product performance, reliability, operability, and customer value.
  • Drive technical decision-making through engineering analysis, sound judgment, and collaboration across multiple disciplines.
  • Identify technical risks, evaluate alternatives, and help develop mitigation plans to support successful program execution.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, service, and test organizations to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Review engineering analyses, designs, and test results to ensure technical quality and readiness for key milestones and decisions.
  • Support planning and execution of development, validation, and field support activities across components, subsystems, and complete engine systems.
  • Develop and promote engineering best practices, lessons learned, and standardized methodologies that strengthen organizational capabilities.
  • Communicate technical recommendations, trade studies, risks, and program status to stakeholders and engineering leadership.
  • Mentor and support the growth of other engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in gas turbine engineering, including design, analysis, testing, systems engineering, product support, manufacturing support, or product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and successfully execute engineering objectives.
  • Strong understanding of gas turbine systems, engineering fundamentals, and the practical application of engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical problems using structured analytical methods and sound engineering judgment.
  • Experience assessing technical risk, evaluating tradeoffs, and supporting effective engineering decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and balance competing technical, schedule, and business priorities.
  • Experience reviewing engineering analyses, technical reports, design documentation, and test data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated commitment to technical excellence, continuous learning, and mentoring others.
  • Willingness to travel typically five to ten percent, and occasionally more for major projects.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsored work authorization.
