A Snapshot of Your Day

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist in the EHS Training Program, you will support site safety and environmental programs for field teams performing maintenance and upgrades on major power-generation equipment—including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators—across the US and Canada.

This 12-month program includes four months of coursework and hands-on training at Siemens Energy facilities in Orlando, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, and Houston, followed by eight months of on-the-job assignments at power plants nationwide. After completing training, you will support field service operations at project sites.

This role requires extensive travel—about 200 to 250 days per year. Assignments last 1–10 weeks, with typical schedules of 10–12 hours per day, 6–7 days per week, possibly including night shifts. The position is based at one of our US service centers.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead site safety programs, including Safety Meetings, LOTO, PPE, Rigging & Lifting, Scaffolding & Ladders, Confined Space, Hazardous Materials, and Material Handling
  • Interact professionally with customer and Siemens Energy leadership.
  • Conduct craft labor safety training.
  • Manage reporting, site documentation, and human performance programs.
  • Oversee environmental and chemical programs.
  • Manage, report, and investigate safety incidents.
  • Interface with customers and improve safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with global EHS and technical staff.

What You Bring

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Safety & Occupational Health, Industrial Technology/Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA; Orlando, FL; and Deer Park, TX.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without current or future employer-sponsored authorization (current Siemens Energy employees with visa sponsorship may qualify for internal transfer).

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
