A Snapshot of Your Day

The role of Design Team Production Network Engineer is to support the engineering team with ERP, PLM, homegrown MS Access databases, SQL databases, JIRA software etc. and being the person that will be the interface to these programs. The successful candidate will be a team player and is expected to assume a role within a collaborative design team including, but not limited to, a technical specialist/layout drafter, detail drafter, engineer, core technology specialist, and service center/factory assembly team, as required. This person will also work closely with the Product Design Team Leads. This position does not have direct reports but will lead various teams and special initiatives.

Excellent collaboration and communication are critical to this role.

Equally important to this role, is the growth experience this position offers the successful applicant beyond just the Network Engineer function. This position offers the applicant the ability to interact with the global Siemens-Energy TCP Organization including Engineering, Operations and Marketing and Sales and potentially expand their role.

The position reports directly to the Product Design Manager for the TCP Product line.

This hybrid position will be located at the Siemens Energy facility located in Olean, NY ; Painted Post, NY; or Bethlehem, PA depending on candidate’s skill/experience.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Adhere to corporate and local safety procedures, ensuring accurate completion of all required safety training.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records while following processes and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Serve as the interface between ERP and PLM software systems.
  • Actively support and assist as a key user for SQL database and JIRA applications.
  • Update the project work breakdown structure by adding or changing tasks to support critical control points and milestone activities across departments.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Project Order Entry, and Finance, while performing miscellaneous duties to support product line success.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s in Science preferred.
  • Preferred experience with Oracle and SAP (Atlas) includes 1-2 years in planning, scheduling, billing, and engineering environments, with knowledge of Siemens Energy products and services. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and writing skills; professional demeanor for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with enthusiasm and intensity. Willing to travel domestically and internationally (0-5% travel).

This job may be based in Painted Post or Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html. The base salary range for this position in Painted Post or Olean, New York is $60,000 -$85,000.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
