A Snapshot of Your Day!
As a Data Migration Manager, you are the backbone of successful data migrations within the S4E rollout environment. Your day starts with a quick stand-up in the cluster rollout team, where you discuss current progress and challenges in data migration. You are responsible for planning, steering, and executing all activities related to migrating data from legacy systems into the new SAP landscape.
How will you make an Impact!
- · Project Planning & Scope: You develop a detailed project plan for all data migration activities in your assigned rollout cluster. In the morning, you review milestones and coordinate with the Business Cluster Manager and the Rollout Data Migration Lead.
- · Assessment & Preparation: You conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing data to determine the scope and requirements for each local migration. Together with local Data Stewards and the Master Data Governance team, you identify relevant data objects and ensure data quality.
- · Data Cleansing & Enrichment: Throughout the day, you coordinate cleansing and enrichment activities at cluster level to ensure data is complete and accurate for migration.
- · Tool & Infrastructure Validation: You regularly check the migration tools and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
- · Strategy & Documentation: You validate the data migration strategy and Data Object Models (DOMs), documenting all steps according to compliance and audit standards.
- · Migration Execution: You lead the execution of ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load), monitor migration activities, and ensure data quality. When issues arise, you are the first point of contact and resolve them quickly.
- · Testing & Quality Assurance: You coordinate and conduct testing and validation of migrated data to confirm accuracy and completeness in the new system environment.
- · Communication & Reporting: You prepare status reports, inform the rollout team about progress and risks, and document all relevant activities.
What you Bring!
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant 5+ years of experience in data migration.
- Experience in leading data migration projects, ideally in a SAP environment
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data quality management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Structured and independent working style
- Confident handling of migration tools and documentation standards
- Team & Collaboration: You work closely with the Business Cluster Manager, Rollout Data Migration Lead, local Data Stewards, IT Cluster Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure successful migration
