A Snapshot of Your Day

The Siemens Energy North America Customs team ensures compliance with customs regulations and internal requirements efficiently. As part of the North America Customs team, the Customs Quality function conducts reviews, manages corrective actions, optimizes processes, identifies duty savings, prepares reports, locally implements IT demands for corporate core solutions and handles customs duty payments for Siemens Energy, Inc. This individual contributor role primarily manages projects and supports ERP and GTM system implementation in North America (U.S. and Canada), advising the project team of Customs regulatory requirements, along with designing related Customs processes!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Regulatory Requirements Analysis: Identify import regulations for Self-Filing and ensure compliance with the U.S. CBP, CBSA and other applicable federal agency requirements by working closely with Customs Regulatory team.
  • Operational Process Development: Outline steps for import Self-Filing and create step-by-step guides and process mapping tailored to Siemens Energy's import activities and products. Ensure processes align with GTM scope and corporate integration principles.
  • Training Delivery: Train the Customs operations team on requirements and procedures for import entries. Provide training materials, emphasizing integration with GTM and ERP project approach.
  • Documentation and Support: Document all findings, processes, and training materials, reflecting GTM and ERP alignment, ensuring compliance with import and export requirements. Offer post-training support for smooth implementation.
  • Communication: Handle communication with all project stakeholders, including global Customs and other functions, ensuring timely delivery of information.
  • Responsible for other project management and implementation activities within the SE North America Customs function.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of education and experience in related field.
  • 5+ years of direct related experience in U.S. import operations, related process implementations and project management.
  • Experience with ERPs, preferably SAP, and Global Trade management software implementation is required. Excellent knowledge of 19 CFR U.S. Customs regulations, self-filing and customs brokerage activities is a requirement. Knowledge of Canadian import regulations is preferred.
  • Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is preferred.
  • Adaptability, effective collaboration across cultures, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and interpretative skills.
  • This role requires strong interpersonal attributes including high ethical standards, strong organizational and communication skills, high attention to detail, highly self-motivated and a team player.
