A Snapshot of Your Day

Join our dynamic team as a Cost Optimization Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in identifying, planning, and implementing initiatives that significantly reduce costs. You will learn and execute tasks within our Cost Out Programs, such as Prioneer, and OPW, while ensuring adherence to the rulebook for Cost Out systems. Imagine collaborating with various departments to assist in calculating savings, analyzing data, and creating accurate cost estimates for products and services. Your insights will drive the development of strategic cost-out initiatives, ensuring that the full value is realized and that our business case is clearly understood.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will provide essential assistance to departments responsible for operational product costs, acting as an extension of Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product teams.
  • Analyze data and current and future loads to create accurate cost estimates, driving the development of “should cost” models.
  • Develop historical and forecast views of cost savings efforts, crafting strategic productivity improvement plans.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, recommending changes to reduce expenses and enhance output.
  • Lead cost-out workshops for idea generation, partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve cost goals efficiently.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
  • 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing or operations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • You possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and cost management software; experience with Think Cell, Pivot Tables, and/or Power BI is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills that allow you to convey complex information clearly.
  • A solid understanding of Lean and process improvement methodologies.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team  

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet
