Imagine stepping into a role where you shape the future of renewable energy. As a Converter Control Software Engineer at Siemens Gamesa, you’ll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge control systems for large multi-megawatt wind turbines. Based in our Keele offices, you’ll collaborate with seasoned engineers to specify, implement, and test power converter control systems. Your day will be filled with innovation as you develop new software features, simulate and test configurations, and diagnose issues from turbines or test rigs. This is your chance to make a green footprint and contribute to a sustainable future.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and enhance control software features, participating in all stages from initial ideas to software release testing.
- Propose, simulate, and test new configurations for existing converter control features.
- Investigate and diagnose issues reported from turbines or test rigs.
- Develop simulation and test environments to assess converter control behavior.
- Collaborate with engineers across various disciplines and coordinate technical activities.
What You Bring
- A passion for renewable energy and a drive to lead change.
- Experience in implementing control software for simulation or real-time operation.
- Knowledge of power electronic drives, Pulse Width Modulation, and vector control is advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages like C or C++ and experience with MATLAB Simulink.
- An engineering degree with a focus on electrical, electronic, or software engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a self-motivated approach to solving technical issues.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally.
