The SAP Expert – Finance Systems & Process Specialist is responsible for owning and safeguarding the technical foundation of Controlling operations across North America. This role ensures that all SAP financial structures, data flows, and reporting mechanisms are correctly designed, tested, migrated, and maintained.
The primary business objective is support on the process improvements and the implementation of the new S/4HANA (S4E) system mitigate risks, ensuring controlling processes are robust, repeatable, and scalable.
The individual acts as the internal SAP CO/FI/PS expert, enabling a successful SAP migration while ensuring business continuity, data integrity, and minimal disruption to financial operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Prepare and validate relevant SAP CO and PS structures to support Controlling requirements, and validate master and hierarchical objects including Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Internal Orders, and WBS / Project structures.
- Execute and support unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), while identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, and process risks prior to go live.
- Actively support go live and post-migration hyper care to stabilize operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of SAP financial data.
- Troubleshoot CO/FI/PS posting issues and resolve errors efficiently, and support SAP data extraction and integration into downstream analytics tools including Alteryx and Power BI.
- Partner with Digital Finance and Reporting teams to ensure reliable system-driven data flows, acting as the SAP point of contact for Controlling analysts and FP&A teams.
- Support Finance users with SAP navigation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field is required or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in SAP Finance or Controlling systems role.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP CO (Controlling), SAP FI (Financial Accounting), and SAP PS (Project Systems) preferred, along with experience supporting Finance or Controlling users in an SAP environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail, with the ability to explain complex system topics to non-technical stakeholders, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated capability through strong technical skills in SAP CO/FI/PS and effective user support within an SAP environment, complemented by the ability to communicate complex topics clearly and work independently.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
