A Snapshot of Your Day

Working in project teams, the main accountability of the Control Systems Engineer is the definition of systems, hardware and software solutions for aeroderivative gas turbine control. Activities range from requirements collect and concept definition to hardware design and specification, code implementation and verification, modelling, simulation, engine test support, site installation & commissioning and in-service support. Depending on experience levels the Control Systems Engineer may lead integrated project teams.

You will be part of a highly collaborative team defining and developing innovative solutions to meet our customer needs in a market evolving towards cleaner energy solutions

What You Bring

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 10 + years of experience in control system engineering for gas turbine
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation
  • Software development experience is required
  • Development experience using industrial PLCs (Rockwell and S7-1500 an asset)
  • Control systems hardware is an asset
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and techniques
  • Ability to structure and solve complex problems
  • Ability to apply risk management techniques
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engine control and an appreciation of gas turbine technology (desirable)
  • Practical knowledge of systems modelling methods and tools e.g. Matlab Simulink (desirable)
  • Practical knowledge of scripting tools e.g. Visual Basic, Python (desirable)
  • Ready to work as per Canada time zone (2 to 3 hours of overlap)
  • Practical knowledge of Agile methodology and working in SCRUM teams (desirable)
  • Experience of technical project management and risk management (desirable)
