A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a Commodity Manager (f/m/d) and take the lead in shaping the strategic procurement for the Engineering Services category. You will focus on outsourcing Engineering Services, such as testing, simulations, and mechanical/electrical/systems engineering, to suppliers during the R&D, product development, and customer implementation phases. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with engineering partners, staying at the forefront of the latest innovations and product developments within Siemens Energy.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead sourcing activities from demand request to awarding, performing total cost analysis to select high-performing suppliers that meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements. Initiate and steer cost-saving and bundling activities, growing managed spend with flawless execution.
- Prepare and negotiate global frame contracts and price agreements for strategic suppliers, strictly aligning with business and market requirements.
- Build and manage relationships with strategic suppliers, develop a strategic supplier portfolio, and de-risk supplier dependencies while reducing tail-end suppliers.
- Consult with partners up to senior management on outsourcing strategies and risk avoidance, working closely with different procurement areas to ensure world-class outcomes.
- Collaborate with partners to determine and successfully implement the engineering services category strategy, building additional value aligned with business needs and strategic objectives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or similar fields (at least 2 years).
- Proven long-standing experience in a procurement or commercial role within a global organization, with experience in service contracts; engineering experience is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, coupled with leadership and project management experience, such as PMP certification.
- Experience working in global teams and communicating effectively up to senior management levels across the organization.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish for business purposes, with a C1 level of fluency.
About the Team
You will be part of the center procurement materials team, responsible for strategic procurement across various global locations, including Germany, Denmark, Spain, Bucharest, Romania, and Florida. While you may often work independently, you will have the support of a large global team. This role reports directly to the manager and involves managing local procurement demands for Siemens Energy, ensuring effective stakeholder and supplier management.
