A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

Join our Global Supply Chain Management team as a Commodity Manager, specializing in the strategic procurement of gas turbine blade and vane airfoil components. This critical role will shape the supply strategy for Siemens Energy’s turbine blades and vanes—key components in the turbine section of gas turbines. The supply chain includes three primary manufacturing stages: SX/DS/CC investment casting, advanced precision machining, and thermal barrier coating application.

We seek a highly skilled professional to lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies and manage the supply chain for airfoil blade and vane components. As an individual contributor, you will leverage strong analytical capabilities, a passion for supply chain management, and expert negotiation skills to drive success.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Strategic Development & Communication: Skilled in developing and presenting commodity strategies and driving critical initiatives optimally.
  • Supplier Relationship & Risk Management: Experienced in building strong supplier relationships and mitigating supply chain risks to ensure stability and collaboration.
  • Technical & Contract Expertise: Proficient in understanding technical aspects of complex products and managing contracts to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
  • Cost & Negotiation Skills: Sophisticated in cost analysis, modeling, and negotiation to optimize procurement expenses and secure favorable supplier terms.
  • Sustainability & Cultural Competence: Knowledgeable in sustainability practices, regulatory compliance, and working effectively in global, culturally diverse environments.
  • Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrates initiative by independently leading key initiatives, effectively guiding peers, and ensuring clear communication of objectives and results.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a comparable field.
  • 6+ years of experience preferably in a related field.
  • High proficiency in data analysis and tools like MS Excel, and Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, as well as high proficiency in slide preparation.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% both domestically and internationally.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
