A Snapshot of Your Day


As an Industrial Electrician transitioning to a Commissioning Technician within our Siemens Gamesa Offshore team, your day will be filled with diverse tasks. You will start with safety briefings and team meetings, followed by hands-on work troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on wind turbine projects. Your role will involve training and mentoring colleagues, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining accurate documentation. Flexibility is key, as you may be deployed to various projects worldwide, requiring travel and working away from home.


How You'll Make An Impact


  • Implement and promote safety cultures and behaviours within your team, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical or mechanical system malfunctions, contributing to the successful commissioning of wind turbine projects.
  • Maintain relevant documentation in accordance with company policy, ensuring accurate records of work performed.
  • Train, mentor, and share knowledge with trainees and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet commissioning requirements and deadlines, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Adapt to various project environments and conditions, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.


What You Bring


  • A qualified industrial electrician with appropriate electrical industry qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds level 2/3 as a minimum.
  • Experience in heavy industrial, hydraulics, and PLC control systems is beneficial but not essential, as extensive training will be provided.
  • Substantial experience working with Electrical Isolation Procedures or similar systems, demonstrating a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently, with confidence in working at height and undertaking physical tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact successfully at various organisational levels and respect different cultures.
  • High level of IT literacy, enabling effective documentation and reporting.
