A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Commercial Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and financial aspects throughout the entire sales and bid process. This includes the preparation and negotiation of commercial and financial terms with customers for large-scale, long-term, and transactional business projects. You will represent Siemens Energy Generation Services and lead contractual negotiations in collaboration with the legal team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead all financial and commercial activities during project acquisition. Manage comprehensive commercial aspects of bids including, Contract analysis and Cost calculation, Business models and financing concepts, Currency and hedging strategies, Risk and opportunity assessments, Bonds, payment terms, credit ratings, insurance, export control, and compliance, Support the pre-qualification process.
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including customers and consortium partners.
- Define business models aligned with customer needs and tax regulations. Collaborate with Sales Managers to develop winning strategies. Participate in internal approval processes (LoA) and utilize Salesforce.com.
- Analyze customer requirements, evaluation methods, and criteria. Assess competitor commercial conditions and pricing strategies.
- Negotiate commercial terms and consortium contracts in alignment with internal guidelines and relevant departments (Legal, SFS, Insurance, Tax, etc.). Ensure proper documentation and approvals based on negotiation outcomes.
- Support the Business Partner process. Provide lessons learned and insights based on comparable projects.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in commercial management of customer bids, with at least 2–3 years as a responsible Commercial Manager handling external customer projects.
- Successfully managed more than complex bids categorized as ≥ C.
- Experience working on international bids and within intercultural teams.
- Effective communication and sound professional judgment. Excellent command of English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with approval guidelines and financial accounting standards (e.g., IFRS). Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
- Strong analytical thinking, results orientation, and problem-solving skills.Team-oriented with the ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
