Join Siemens Energy as the Chief Engineer for AI, Data Science & Software Engineering within the Scalable Core team, where you will lead the design and technical vision for our next generation of intelligent software systems. You will be a strategic and hands-on technical leader, defining how AI, data, and scalable software converge to drive innovation in energy management, industrial automation, and digital services. Your role will blend deep technical expertise in AI/ML, generative models, and data-intensive software architecture with visionary leadership and product thinking. You’ll ensure our digital platforms are robust, explainable, and future-ready, translating cutting-edge technology into real-world, measurable impact. This is a pivotal technical leadership role at the intersection of technology, architecture, and innovation, setting the direction for how Siemens Energy builds, scales, and governs intelligent systems across its global ecosystem.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Spearhead and envision the architecture for AI-driven and data-intensive systems across Siemens Energy’s digital ecosystem, defining the technical direction and scalable foundation for intelligent, interoperable solutions.
- Lead the design and evolution of reusable, production-grade frameworks and services that unify AI/ML, software engineering, and data infrastructure for predictive analytics, automation, and intelligent energy management.
- Integrate and advance GenAI, computer vision, and multimodal learning technologies into enterprise-scale platforms, ensuring robustness, transparency, explainability, and responsible AI practices.
- Collaborate across disciplines with data engineering, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end MLOps and experimentation pipelines that enable continuous learning and innovation.
- Champion software excellence through architecture reviews, coding standards, and lifecycle governance that balance agility, scalability, security, and compliance.
- Mentor, empower, and grow senior engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, technical rigor, and measurable impact while shaping the broader product and platform vision for Siemens Energy’s AI strategy.
What You Bring
- PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in AI/ML and data-driven software systems, with at least 3–5 years in principal or architectural leadership roles.
- Proven ability to architect, deploy, and scale enterprise-grade AI/ML solutions from research through production across cloud and edge environments.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), with a strong foundation in data science and software engineering principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MLOps and DevOps, including distributed and containerized systems (Kubernetes, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, MLflow) and CI/CD best practices.
- Strategic and product-driven mindset with exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, able to align multidisciplinary teams around a unified technical and business vision.

The Scalable Core team drives the foundational technologies and developer platforms that empower scalable and intelligent energy management solutions across Siemens Energy. We build reusable backend services, AI/ML platforms, and lifecycle tools to support cloud, on-prem, and edge deployments.
