A Snapshot of Your Day

The position will support the FACTS and Storage business by leading the preparation of complex, high-value bids for grid technology solutions across Australia and the APAC region.

The main products and service portfolios include but not limited to; STATCOMs, Synchronous Condensers, Power Flow Controllers, HVDC and substation solutions and the related Support Services.

To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: leading the end-to-end bid management lifecycle, developing technically and commercially robust proposals, and managing all stakeholder engagement and internal governance.

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with extensive experience in tender management within the transmission and energy industry. A strong foundation in electrical engineering, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage large projects with limited oversight are essential requirements for this important role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 40% Technical & Commercial Proposal Development
    • Analyze complex Request for Quotations (RFQs) to interpret technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.
    • Coordinate and consolidate technical and commercial inputs from regional and global stakeholders, including engineering, legal, and procurement.
    • Prepare detailed cost compilations, commercial calculations, and pricing strategies to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
    • Compile all technical and commercial bid documentation in the required structure for timely customer submission.
    • Define, discuss and align work packages for suppliers and local partners.
  • 30% Strategic Bid Management & Leadership
    • Lead end-to-end bid and proposal activities for complex grid technology solutions, including FACTS, HVDC, and Grid Stability systems.
    • Define the bidding strategy, offer structure, and work packages in collaboration with Sales and technical teams to ensure a competitive advantage.
    • Establish and manage the bid organization, project plans, timelines, and communication procedures for each tender.
    • Coach, review, and delegate work to junior tendering professionals to build team capability.
  • 30% Stakeholder Coordination & Governance
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all bid-related topics with the customer, internal teams, and external partners.
    • Support the internal offer release process by preparing comprehensive documentation for management briefing and approval.
    • Conduct bid clarifications and support the Sales team during contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
    • Ensure all bid activities comply with internal governance, including export control and business conduct guidelines.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8-10+ years of proven experience in bid management, tendering, or a technical proposals role within the energy, utility, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional and international teams on large-scale, complex projects.
  • Project engineering and/or project management and/or design/commissioning experience and/or qualifications also highly regarded.
  • Technical Bid Management experience (tender preparation, cost estimation, technical specification analysis)
  • Full rights to work and live in Australia
  • Valid Australian driving license and willingness to travel locally and internationally as required for the business
