A Snapshot of Your Day

Wind Farm Technician Intern at Siemens Energy

This position is for a Wind Farm Technician Intern within the Onshore Service Operations team in Morocco. The role is a key part of our business continuity strategy, designed to build a pipeline of skilled technicians for future operational needs by providing hands-on training and development. To achieve this, the internship focuses on two core areas: practical, supervised involvement in technical maintenance activities and a thorough grounding in essential health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures. This structure ensures interns gain both the foundational skills and the critical safety mindset required for a career in wind energy services. Given the focus on foundational learning and safety, the ideal candidate will be a current student or recent graduate from a relevant technical field. Key attributes include a strong mechanical or electrical aptitude, a proactive approach to safety, and a demonstrated eagerness to learn and collaborate within a team environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • 60% Technical Support & Maintenance Assistance
  • Assist senior technicians in performing scheduled maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on wind turbines.
  • Support troubleshooting and fault-finding activities on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems under direct supervision.
  • Learn to use and maintain specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) according to company standards.
  • Contribute to the documentation of service activities by accurately recording data and observations in service reports.
  • 40% Health, Safety, and Procedural Compliance
  • Actively participate in all safety briefings and adhere strictly to all company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and site-specific procedures.
  • Learn and apply standard operating procedures for wind turbine maintenance, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) and emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the turbine, at the base, and within the service vehicle.
  • Report any safety incidents, near-misses, or potential hazards to the supervising technician or site manager immediately.

What You Bring

  • GWO
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a technical diploma or degree (Bac+2/Bac+3) in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • No prior professional experience required; this is an entry-level internship position.
  • Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is required; basic knowledge of English is a plus
