A Snapshot of Your Day
Preventive maintenance is typically performed on an annual basis and plays a vital role in maintaining WTG operational readiness. While generally repetitive, it is a cornerstone of long-term equipment health. In contrast, corrective maintenance is critical for maintaining turbine availability and requires strong solving and diagnostic skills, as no two days are exactly the same.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Routine Maintenance: Performing scheduled maintenance checks, inspections, and lubrication on wind turbine components.
- Repairing and Fixing: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with wind turbines.
- Safety: Ensuring all work activities are performed safely, adhering to safety protocols and procedures, and providing safety training.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and performance data.
- Tower Climbing: Climbing the towers in order to inspect, diagnose and repair components. This does require knowledge of specialized climbing skills and related equipment.
- Component Replacement: Replacing or repairing worn-out or damaged wind turbine components
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED is required. An associate's degree or equivalent experience in a related field is a plus. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered (I.e.: military, skilled trades).
- A background in wind turbine maintenance or power generation is preferred but not required. Safety Knowledge: An understanding of safety protocols and LOTO procedures.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to diagnose and repair complex technical issues. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to climb wind turbine towers and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by OSHA safety laws. Valid driver's license is required for the position and the selected candidates will be subject to a DMV check.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
