A Snapshot of Your Day
The Siemens Energy U.S. Customs Team supports in all customs related matters, ensuring full compliance with applicable customs regulations and internal requirements in an optimal and efficient manner. The Customs Regulatory Specialist provides regulatory guidance and risk mitigation on matters impacting Siemens Energy’s Customs related activities. This role will provide support to business areas and internal customers and ensure compliance pursuant to Customs Regulations and ICP for import, export, and supply chain security.
This position reports to the head of U.S. Customs Regulatory and may be in Orlando, FL, Charlotte, NC, or Houston, TX.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Serve as the internal Customs compliance and trade regulations subject matter expert.
- Support in the implementation of standards of U.S. import and export compliance per Siemens Energy Internal Control Program requirements.
- Assist in ensuring Company’s compliance with U.S. laws governing import, export, and trade agreement activities. Interface and collaborate with business areas, locations, subsidiaries and SE Customs teams regarding import/export procedures and requirements.
- Remain up to date on all federal regulation changes and evaluate the impact to current processes for management. Support in research and preparation of binding rulings, scope rulings, post-entry amendments, CF28 and CF29’s.
- Provide expert-level knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, FTA and country of origin determination, ADD/CVD scope determinations, Section 232 and 301, Incoterms®. Develop Procedures/Templates/Forms/Fact Sheets.
- Develop and provide training to peers, colleagues, stakeholders, and businesses, as necessary to maintain a high level of compliance awareness and knowledge within Siemens Energy.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience in related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in U.S. Customs work.
- Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of CFR 15 and 19, complex customs valuation topics including value reconciliation and assists, U.S. HTS classification, Section 232 and 301, Incoterms®.
- Ability to identify and propose corrective actions to resolve import and export issues as they relate to internal systems, processes, customer, suppliers, and service providers.
