A Snapshot of your Day:

As a Turbine Casing Design Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions for the stationary components of our gas turbines. Your day may begin with collaborating with multi-functional teams to discuss design requirements and technical challenges. You will use your expertise in NX to build initial design concepts and support the detailed design process. Throughout the day, you will perform thermal analysis, stress calculations, and lifetime assessments yourself or you will manage a team to do such analysis to ensure the reliability and performance of turbine casings. Your work will directly contribute to the successful development and operation of our advanced gas turbine products!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead, design and develop turbine casings and other stationary components for large gas turbines, focusing on mechanical integrity, thermal performance, and durability.
  • Build and modify 3D models and drawings using NX, supporting the design team with initial concepts and detailed designs.
  • Perform or coordinate thermal analysis, stress calculations, and lifetime assessments to ensure compliance with technical specifications and operational requirements.
  • Support the manufacturability and serviceability of casing components by working with manufacturing and service teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within your turbine casing team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design and development of mechanical components, ideally within the field of gas turbines or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design, preferably with Siemens NX.
  • Proven understanding of thermal analysis, stress calculations, and lifetime assessment methods for mechanical components.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication skills and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
