How You’ll Make an Impact

 

  • Create and update technical documentation in the TechPubStudio Content Management System.
  • Analyze and determine the required scope and content of technical product documentation for complex machinery (e.g., gas turbines, service equipment) based on project-specific design documents.
  • Procure order documentation in collaboration with departments, suppliers, and other experts and compile it according to specified structures.
  • Plan project schedules for the creation of technical descriptions, coordinate with contributing areas (e.g., design, suppliers, customers), and establish deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery schedules through regular tracking.
  • Publish documentation and create Table of Contents (TOC).
  • Create and update technical documentation, user manuals, online help, training materials, and other technical publications.
  • Assist in the creation of translations for international customers.
  • Revise and create new documents in XML format as text documents or forms with graphics for the TechPub Studio Content Management System.
  • Develop concepts, layout designs, and select appropriate media for documentation.
  • Create technical descriptions in compliance with standards/norms, guidelines, and customer specifications, including in a common foreign language (typically English). Submit description proposals to the relevant department (e.g., design) for approval in case of deviations from standards.
  • Coordinate project schedules related to technical descriptions with contributing areas.
  • Handle tasks using commonly used editorial tools (including XML editor/TechPub Studio/MS Office). Revise technical descriptions created when necessary.
  • Create product and operational documentation for turbines and their auxiliary equipment following modifications or expansions.
  • Maintain and update databases for configuring complex operating and product descriptions.
  • Participate in reviews with departments (e.g., document creation and coordination).
  • Create new text modules from illustrations, diagrams, texts, and graphics to visualize technical information, revise existing text modules, and integrate them into the editorial tool.
  • Maintain and optimize XML text modules and description structures in the Content Management System.

 

What You Bring 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation, user manuals, or training materials.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Strong knowledge of XML, Content Management Systems, and the use of documentation and graphics software, such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office, DITA, XML, or similar tools.
  • Ability to present complex technical information in understandable, user-friendly language.
  • High self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
  • Knowledge of data preparation and visualization.
  • Knowledge in the areas of Data Science and Data Analytics (e.g., Alteryx, Snowflake, Uipath, and Mendix).
  • Domain knowledge of gas turbines (gas turbine design, manufacturing, IBS, and service) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the application and use of Microsoft Office 365 toolbox, including how and when to create and manage applications such as SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Planner, etc.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Intercultural experience is a plus.
